For the ones who have already heard Julie Roset’s voice it will not be difficult to guess that it was the biggest inspiration for the title of this program. The purity of emission, the fine sense of intonation, and the perfect control of vibrato are the most distinguished features of her angelical voice.

The other connotation of this title comes from the fact that it’s inspired by sacred music; at the baroque period, composers used to accept different kinds of commissions, but writing music upon sacred texts remained one of the highest assignments a musician could have.

In order to show all qualities of Roset’s singing, she presents this program of sacred baroque music from France, Italy, Germany, Poland, and England in the seventeenth and the eighteenth centuries.
